Domaine Méo-Camuzet
A leading Vosne-Romanée estate, shaped by the counsel of Henri Jayer and now led by Jean-Nicolas Méo, prized for its Cros Parantoux and Clos de Vougeot.
About Domaine
The estate behind Domaine Méo-Camuzet was built in the early twentieth century by Étienne Camuzet, a Vosne-Romanée winegrower and politician who assembled exceptional holdings, including a large parcel of Clos de Vougeot. Jean Méo, Camuzet's relative, inherited the property in 1959, and in 1981 the domaine was renamed Méo-Camuzet, with the first wines bottled under that name from the 1983 vintage. Jean-Nicolas Méo took over in the mid-1980s and, returning to Vosne-Romanée in 1989, reclaimed leased vineyards for the domaine's own bottlings with guidance from the legendary Henri Jayer. Today Jean-Nicolas farms the family's vineyards across the heart of the Côte de Nuits, producing polished, deeply flavored pinot noir. The portfolio's jewels include the rare Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux and a substantial holding in Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, wines that have made the estate one of Vosne's modern references.

Editorial notes
Cros Parantoux and the grands crus are made in small quantities and benefit from extended cellaring; village and premier cru bottlings offer earlier access to the house style.
