Pol Roger is one of Champagne's most respected independent houses, founded in 1849 by the young Pol Roger and based in Épernay, where it remains family-owned by his descendants. Unusually among major houses, it has stayed out of the large luxury conglomerates, run across generations by the Pol Roger and de Billy families. The house draws on prime vineyard holdings in the Vallée d'Épernay and Côte des Blancs, producing a classically balanced, elegant style across its range. Pol Roger enjoys a celebrated association with Sir Winston Churchill, who declared his lifelong devotion to the house; its prestige cuvée bears his name. With a flagship Brut Réserve ("White Foil"), vintage wines, a Blanc de Blancs, and rosé, Pol Roger is prized for finesse, consistency, and a distinctly British following.
