About Zuccardi

Familia Zuccardi traces its roots to 1963, when engineer Alberto "Tito" Zuccardi planted the family's first vineyard in Mendoza to demonstrate a new irrigation system he had devised for the desert. His son José Alberto took the reins in the 1980s, building the brand internationally, and grandson Sebastián has driven the move into the high-altitude Uco Valley. The dramatic stone-and-concrete Piedra Infinita winery, completed in 2016, anchors the estate's focus on calcareous, rocky soils at elevations up to roughly 1,500 metres. Zuccardi is best known for site-expressive Malbec made with minimal intervention and a strong emphasis on terroir traceability. The estate has earned exceptional acclaim, including being named the World's Best Vineyard for three consecutive years and entering that ranking's Hall of Fame, alongside multiple 100-point scores for its top Malbecs.

Editorial notes

Practical guidance

Seek the single-vineyard 'Aluvional' and 'Piedra Infinita' Malbecs for the estate's most terroir-expressive, age-worthy reds.
