About Seña

Seña was conceived as Chile's first icon wine, born of a meeting of minds between Eduardo Chadwick of Viña Errázuriz and the late Robert Mondavi of California. The inaugural 1995 vintage set out to prove that Chile could produce a world-class red expressing a specific terroir. Following Constellation Brands' acquisition of Robert Mondavi, the Chadwick family bought out the Mondavi share, and since 2005 Seña has been wholly owned by the Chadwicks as Eduardo Chadwick's personal project. The estate sits in the Aconcagua Valley north of Santiago, where its vineyards are farmed biodynamically. Seña is a Bordeaux-style blend built around Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère, alongside other classic varieties. Its reputation was cemented by strong showings in the Berlin Tasting against Bordeaux and Tuscan first growths, helping put Chilean fine wine on the international map.
