Fontodi
A leading Chianti Classico estate in Panzano's Conca d'Oro, owned by the Manetti family since 1968 and famed for its pioneering 100% Sangiovese Super-Tuscan, Flaccianello della Pieve.
About Fontodi
Fontodi sits in the celebrated Conca d'Oro amphitheatre of Panzano in Chianti and has belonged to the Manetti family, long associated with Tuscan terracotta production, since 1968. Under Giovanni Manetti, who took over in the early 1980s and works with the estate's team and consulting oenologists, Fontodi became one of the region's quality benchmarks. In 1981 it introduced Flaccianello della Pieve, a 100% Sangiovese aged in barrique that became one of the most acclaimed Super-Tuscans and is bottled as Colli Toscana Centrale IGT. The estate farms more than 100 hectares of vineyard organically, producing over 400,000 bottles annually across Chianti Classico, the Vigna del Sorbo Gran Selezione, and Flaccianello. Fontodi is recognized for combining traditional Sangiovese expression with rigorous modern viticulture and a long-standing commitment to certified organic farming.
