About Dom

Dom Pérignon is the prestige cuvée of the Champagne house Moët & Chandon, today part of the LVMH group. Named for the 17th-century Benedictine cellarer Dom Pierre Pérignon, the wine is a 20th-century creation: its first vintage was 1921, released for sale only in 1936. It is produced exclusively as a vintage Champagne, made solely in years judged exceptional, and is built around Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Successive cellar masters have defined a precise house style aged for extended periods on its lees, and the brand later introduced longer-aged late releases of earlier vintages. Consistently positioned at the top of the prestige-Champagne market, Dom Pérignon remains a benchmark for vintage Champagne and a fixture of luxury wine culture worldwide.

Editorial notes

Practical guidance

A vintage-only Champagne released only in select years; expect a tier above standard non-vintage cuvées. Late P2/P3 releases offer extended lees aging for collectors.
