About Salon

Champagne Salon is among the most singular producers in the region, built on the vision of Eugène-Aimé Salon, who set out to make a Champagne from a single grape, a single cru, and a single vintage. His first vintage was 1905, originally made for personal enjoyment, with the first commercial vintage following in 1921. Salon makes only one wine: a blanc de blancs of 100% Chardonnay sourced from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs, and only in years judged exceptional — roughly three or four times a decade. In undeclared years the fruit is directed to sister house Delamotte. Since 1989 Salon has belonged to the Laurent-Perrier group. Famed for its precision, minerality, and extraordinary aging potential, Salon is released in tiny quantities and ranks among the most sought-after "unicorn" Champagnes in the world.

Editorial notes

Practical guidance

A vintage-only blanc de blancs made only in exceptional years and in tiny quantities; expect scarcity, long aging potential, and top-tier pricing.
