Joh. Jos. Prüm
An iconic Mosel Riesling estate founded in 1911, Joh. Jos. Prüm is famed for ethereal, long-lived wines from Wehlener Sonnenuhr, still run by the Prüm family.
About Joh.
Joh. Jos. Prüm is among the most revered Riesling producers in the world. The estate was founded in 1911 by Johann Josef Prüm when the larger S.A. Prüm holding was divided among heirs; the Prüm family's presence in the village of Wehlen stretches back more than 400 years. Its reputation was largely built by Sebastian Prüm, who refined the house style in the 1930s and 1940s, and consolidated by his son Dr. Manfred Prüm. Since 2003 Manfred has worked alongside his daughter Dr. Katharina Prüm, who now leads the estate. Planted entirely to Riesling across roughly 14 hectares in grand vineyards including Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich and Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, the estate produces wines of crystalline purity, low alcohol and remarkable longevity. Young Prüm wines are famously reductive and reticent, rewarding years of patient cellaring before revealing their full delicacy and depth.
Flagship wines

Editorial notes
Wines are deliberately reductive in youth and reward long cellaring; classic with spicy Asian dishes. Spans Kabinett to Eiswein and Trockenbeerenauslese.
